Originally from San Antonio, Tonie has been working in the dental field for an impressive 39 years now, with 14 of those years spent here at West 7th Smiles. After attending the University of Texas at San Antonio, she also completed courses with the Pride Institute and the Pankey Institute. Additionally, she has attended customer service and case presentation training as well as over 25 Texas Dental Association conventions. One of her favorite things about her job is being able to visualize a restorative case from start to finish and feeling excited and proud for the patient. She also loves the long term relationships she forms with patients and their appreciation of the work she and the rest of the team do.
Tonie is happily married and has three stepchildren and four grandchildren. When she isn’t busy at work, she enjoys baseball, gardening, cooking and baking, and collecting antiques. She also loves to do “anonymous” charitable projects. Recently, she and her sister did a blanket drive for a non-profit children’s hospital, and now they’re exploring the possibility of creating a food bank.
